When the government of the Republic
of China was established on January 1, 1912, the
"Five-Colored Flag" was selected by the
provisional Senate as the national flag. The "18-Star Flag"
was adopted by the army and the modern flag was adopted as a
naval ensign
Giant Panda is the 'National Treasure'
of China, because: Their original ranges are all located in China.
Since, their numbers started falling rapidly due to economic development,
deforestation & poaching, the Chinese government decided
to make it the 'national treasure'
It because of its importance in Chinese culture,
the red-crowned crane was selected by the National Forestry
Bureau of the People's Republic of China as a candidate for
the title of national animal of China
The country has embraced table
tennis since at least the 1950s, when Chairman Mao declared it
the national sport. For the communist leader, it was a logical
choice—a sport
It was considered a symbol of the country
during the Tang Dynasty (618 – 907), and was the favorite flower of
the people at that time. In Chinese culture, the peony represents
prosperity, elegance, solemnity, and is nicknamed the “monarch of the flowers

living species in the division Ginkgophyta, all others being extinct. It is found in
fossils dating back 270 million years.
